About the Course:
This book is the first to provide accessible information about the most common psychiatric conditions encountered by vocational rehabilitation professionals. All information is based on conditions as described in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) IV. Each chapter includes case studies or vignettes to illustrate symptomatology, rehabilitation counseling techniques, placement and training recommendations, and suggestions for reasonable workplace accommodations.
Fischler, Gary, Ph.D. & Booth, Nan, MSW, MPH
About the Author:
Gary L. Fischler, PhD, is Director of the Institute for Forensic Psychology in Minneapolis, MN. He is a licensed clinical psychologist and a diplomate of the American Board of Psychological Specialties (Forensic Clinical Psychology) and the American Board of Professional Disability Consultants. In addition, he is a clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota and the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology. This book is based on his ten years of experience as a consultant to vocational rehabilitation and disability programs.
Nan Booth, MSW, MPH, has fifteen years of experience as a psychotherapist, providing services in a variety of settings to clients with mood disorders, personality disorders, and serious and persistent mental illness. She is currently a freelance writer working to advance awareness of mental health issues
