About the Course:
This unique and educational conversation will cover basic foundational information which includes the field and history of the dissociative disorder, the medical classification system, neurobiology of dissociation and structural dissociation. The goal of this morning lecture is to set participants with an excellent understanding of what dissociation is, how it affects all clinical populations and how to set oneself up for a more affective practice.

Christine Forner (BA, BSW, MSW, Registered Clinical Social Worker,) has over 17 years of clinical experience working with individuals with Trauma, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders, Traumatic Dissociation, Developmental Trauma, Complex Trauma and Dissociative Disorders. Christine is the owner, lead therapist/supervisor at Associated Counselling, with specialized training in EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Psychotherapeutic Meditation Techniques and Neurofeedback. Christine is the author of the book Dissociation, Mindfulness and Creative Meditations: Trauma Informed Practices that Facilitate Growth.
This course is recommended for health care professionals, especially psychologists and social workers who seek knowledge about the neurobiology of dissociation and structural dissociation. It is appropriate for an introductory level of participants’ knowledge.
