Introduction for 2012 National Strategy for Suicide Prevention: Goals and Objectives for Action: A Report of the Surgeon General explains how suicide is a serious public health problem that causes immeasurable pain, suffering, and loss to individuals, families, communities nationwide. A comprehensive approach to suicide prevention, understanding suicide, risk and protective factors, the prevalence of suicidal behaviors will all be addressed in this course.
