About the Course:
Holistic Counseling (Seminar #4) presents a history and overview of the development of holistic counseling and the individual theories and practices associated with them. These include the Family Systems Theory of Murray Bowen, MD, Gestalt Therapy of Fritz Perls, MD, Bioenegetics of Alexander Lowen, MD, Primal Therapy of Arthur Janov, PhD, and Therapeutic Breathwork of Jim Morningstar, PhD. The newly emerging field of Positive Psychology is introduced, and the holistic paradigm is viewed in a developmental perspective.

About the Author:
Jim has held licensure as a clinical psychologist since 1973. He is a clinical supervisor, seminar leader and has pioneered in the integration of psychotherapy with such mind/body techniques as breathwork and bio-spiritual energetics. He founded the School of Integrative Psychology in 1980 and the Transformations Breathworker Training Program in 1990 and has authored four books in the field of spiritual psychology. He is co-director of the International Breathwork Training Alliance and founder of InWellness.
This course is recommended for health care professionals, especially psychologists, counselors, and social workers, who seek knowledge about the theory and practice of holistic counseling. It is appropriate for an introductory level of participants’ knowledge.
