Introduction and Background (Section I): From Motivational Enhancement Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Adolescent Cannabis Users: 5 Sessions reviews the scope, effects, and patterns of the marijuana problem.

Background on the Cannabis Youth Treatment (CYT) Cooperative Agreement (Section II) provides a brief overview of the Cannabis Youth Treatment Project for which this manual was developed.

Background of the Motivational Enhancement Therapy/Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in 5 Sessions (MET/CBT5) Treatment (Section III) covers the scientific basis for this intervention.

Overview of the MET/CBT5 Treatment (Section IV) provides step-by-step procedures for actually implementing this treatment protocol.
