This course is based on a booklet for patients with end stage cancer. It discusses treatment options such as palliative care, clinical trials, hospice care and home care, as well as symptom control. It also addresses emotional concerns including feelings, communicating with friends and family, and living the rest of life to its fullest and with meaning.

Identify ways that patients with advanced stage cancer can learn more about how to cope with concerns they will likely have.
Describe how cancer patients can best work with and receive support from their health care team and caregivers.
Evaluate materials presented regarding resources for cancer patients to utilize (words to know, personal affairs worksheet, etc.).
