About the Course:
This course addresses the definition, scope, causes, and consequences of child abuse and neglect. The course also presents an overview of prevention efforts and the child protection process. Roles and responsibilities of different professional groups are presented, as is guidance on how those groups can work together to help protect children.
This course is recommended for health care professionals, especially psychologists, counselors, social workers, and nurses who seek knowledge about preventing child abuse and neglect. It is appropriate for all levels of participants’ knowledge.

Examine and explain factors that contribute to child abuse and neglect.
Understand and be able to apply child protection processes at the individual and community levels.
Explain the roles of various professionals involved in the the child protection process.
