This course provides physicians and mental health professionals with information regarding roles in disaster response as well as tools to assess and treat the needs of children and families who have experienced a disaster.

Course Objectives:

  1. To learn more about the characteristics and impact of disasters.

  2. To become better acquainted with children and adolescents’ reactions to disasters and recommendations for dealing with them.

  3. to gain information on community involvement in times of disaster and on potential resources in a disaster environment
