About the Course:
Applied Behavior Science Press is excited to present this newly-released interactive DVD training program that provides a unique, personalized training experience for mental health professionals and graduate students who want to improve their skills in helping depressed adolescents. This comprehensive training program is designed and hosted by Dr. Paul Rohde and his colleague, Ms. Jenel Jorgensen, who have a combined 35 years of experience delivering and training others to deliver “The Coping Course.” The training program is based on the “Adolescent Coping with Depression Course,” an evidence-based cognitive-behavioral group intervention that has solid research support and has been delivered in a variety of settings for over 25 years. The step-by-step interactive DVD training program presents video vignettes showing expert therapists as they work with a group of depressed adolescents over multiple sessions. The DVD format allows the user to choose when and how much of the program to review at any one sitting and the order in which to examine the course materials. The DVD provides cross-references to relevant sections in the highly-regarded “Leader’s manual for adolescent groups: Adolescent coping with depression course.”
Note: For this course, the learning materials are purchased separately from the CE exam. Link to learning materials is found at right, “Get Course Materials”. Learning materials consist of 1) Mastering the Coping Course DVD and 2) the Adolescent Coping with Depression Course Leader’s Manual. Combined cost for DVD and manual is $149.95.
The DVD is designed to supplement and visually illustrate material contained in the written manual. Many find it useful to have the manual available while they view the DVD.
